When a unique opportunity presents itself, why not take it? Inspired by discussions with the team from the Spadone Project, we contacted the depositary of Markušovce Chateau in the Spiš region (Eastern Slovakia). According to previous findings published more than a decade ago on the TŠC website, the depositary holds a historical feder. After explaining our goals, the curator of the depositary allowed us to inspect the item, and so we embarked on a little quest.

Throughout the centuries, the sword has stood as a symbol of protection, justice, and righteousness. It is the noblest of all arms and the very essence of knighthood. Not so long ago, dozens of surviving historical textbooks have helped bring its art into the modern era and sparked a second renaissance in its use.

The next product in our customer favorite Light line pays an homage to historical fencing masters depicted in famous fencing books such as the Starhemberg Fechtbuch (Cod.44.A.8). The schilt or ricasso shape helps recreate the behavior of a traditionally shaped sword while providing just enough cover for thumb extension.
