Montante, also known as Spadone or Zweihänder (etc) is the largest sword of the European battlefield. Utilized mainly in the renaissance era, it served mercenaries and ordinary soldiers alike. It was used both for protection and offense, because the ‘longer blade can keep more weapons occupied’. Nowadays, mostly thanks to surviving Spanish treatises it’s a popular pick for solo practice due to the sheer amount of forms.
SIGI Montante is developed to be as lightweight as possible. Depending on your build, the weight ranges between approximately 1750-1950g. But that is not all; the relatively low POB of 7-8 cm and the gentle SIGI flex allow you to use it for moderate controlled sparring. If you ever wanted to try how it is to use a real biggie (the SIGI Biggie hehe) in a fight, with the SIGI Montante you can do it.

Please note that shipping Montantes might be pricier than shipping ordinary swords because of sheer size. Unfortunately we cannot dismantle the sword. Contact us to get an approximate quote, mainly if there are multiple swords involved.
