The first leg of Wessex 2024 will take place in Oxford, hosted by The School of the Sword Oxford. This is the largest of all three Wessex League events, so it’s perfect for international fencers.

The Wessex League is a series of tournaments aimed at all HEMA practitioners that want to experience competition for the first time or to step up their game. It has the format of international HEMA competition while remaining accessible and friendly. You can start competing or increase your experience.

We will be running 9 competitions (4 Open, 2 women’s+ & 2 beginners)

The beginners and women’s tournaments run alongside each other with opposite weapons, and you cannot compete in two events running at the same time, so please take care when booking not to choose the two that clash. Please see below for entry criteria.
