DESCRIPTION:Walpurgis is an initiative launched in 2022 to promote women’s participation in Historical European Martial Arts in Chile. Its name is symbolically derived from the female character Walpurgis\, who appears in the illustrations of the Royal Armouries Ms. I.33. Its a seminar and tournament that seek\nIn terms of sports: To encourage the practice of historical fencing for recreational or competitive purposes\, as well as training in refereeing and HEMA instruction.\nIn terms of academics: To promote the study of the discipline’s historical sources\, disseminating knowledge and encouraging research and peer learning.\nIn terms of Community: To establish a safe and inclusive space for female fencers and those from underrepresented genders to meet\, cooperate\, and learn together.
