DESCRIPTION:The premiere Hema event in Greece returns with it’s 7th edition!\nThis year we go north of Greece with “The White Tower Edition” in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki! \nHEMATHLON will be a part of a bigger event the “Mediterranean Culture-Sports Tournament Thessaloniki 2025” which includes a lot of non-recognized sports like: handball in the sand \, wrestling in the sand\, korfball\, basketball 3×3\, types of MMA fighting\, running and shooting (laser) and a lot more other activities and sports!\nThe event will take place in the center of town in special designated areas from July 17th to July 20th supported by the municipality of the town of Thessaloniki. It will kick off with an official opening ceremony on Friday There will be major media coverage and sponsorship as the event is also supported by various official international federations of wide-spread sports. \nAthletes of ALL sports will have “special” benefits like: free pass for transportation within the city\, hotel discounts\, free museum tours etc. So do not hurry yet to book accommodation.\nAll will be announced in due time.\nMeanwhile you can check an introductory pdf about the event on our website. \nHEMATHLON will take place on Saturday the 19th of July with the Mixed Open Longsword Tournament and on Sunday the 20th of July with the Mixed Open Single Rapier tournament.\nThe finals for both tournaments will take place at night in special designated areas in the center of town! \nRuleset and Safety rules will be announced the coming weeks. \nHEMATHLON VII is officially sponsored by Hellenic Federation of HEMA and International Federation of HEMA. \nDo not miss your chance to become a part of a celebration of Sports & Culture and register now at (places for both tournaments will be of a limited number): https://hemathlon.com/registration/\nOR\nsend directly an e-mail to: hemathlonsecretary@gmail.com See less

DESCRIPTION:Three-day-long Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) training camp in an amazing and period-appropriate environment.\n1610 was the year Panemunė castle was completed. What a coincidence: the early 17th century was also the golden age of European martial arts\, and that’s what this HEMA camp is going to be all about.\nEach day there will be a seminar on one of the staple Renaissance weapons with a world-renown fencing master:\nJuly 21: Longsword (Matt Galas)\nJuly 22: Sabre (Jerzy Miklaszewski)\nJuly 23: Rapier (Mike Prendergast)\nAdditional activities will include excursions\, lectures\, sparring\, target cutting\, handling of real antique weapons\, sitting around a campfire and more. Stay tuned for more information on the schedule!\nHow much will it cost?\nFull price:\n3 days: 200 eur\n2 days: 150 eur\n1 day: 100 eur\nThe price includes stays (2\, 1 and 0 appropriately) at the castle’s hostel.\nThere is an additional option to stay in fancier hotel rooms (for an additional price\, see the registration form).\nThere is also an option to camp in a tent\, which will reduce the base price by 14 eur. per night. Saint George has long been the patron saint of knights\, warriors\, fencers and those who take up arms for honor\, defense and virtue. \nOur tournament “In the Name of Saint George” is a celebration of those knightly values that Saint George represents\, not just a contest of arms but also a tribute to the chivalric spirit of discipline\, respect and valor that defined the martial traditions of Europe. \nHe slew the dragon\, he died a martyr.
