DESCRIPTION:It’s time for the third edition of Sofia CrossSwords! Yet again we welcome you in the capital of Bulgaria in the first weekend of November.\nAs with the previous year\, we are working on bringing you both our core formats and something new.\nWe are going bigger yet again\, with 6 tournament categories in 2 days:\nOpen Longsword – 32 spots\nOpen Light Longsword – 20 spots\nLadies’ Longsword – 20 spots\nOpen Arming Sword – 24 spots\nOpen Sword&Buckler – 20 spots\nLadies’ Arming Sword – 20 spots\nFor the big Open Longsword tournament we will have the same format as before – each participant will get at least 7 matches and will have the privilege to judge just as many.\nAll other categories will be judged by a team of selected international referees.\nArming sword and Sword and buckler disciplines are with provided weapons\, the arming sword yet again being the SIGI Junior.\nAll participants can sign up for a Main discipline in the Open categories and add secondary ones as well. One caveat this year is that when it comes to Longsword\, you have to choose between the Open and Open Light categories – you cannot sign up for both.\nLadies may join the Ladies tournaments in addition to the Open ones.\nIf you have any questions\, do let us know in comments\, private messages or email – sofia.crossswords@gmail.com

DESCRIPTION:This will be our third tournament. Its purpose is to give our fencers and other local fencers their best experience in competitive combat – in as smooth and stress-free a way as possible. We are including a foam sword format event for those who don’t have full protection yet – everyone is welcome to come and try!\nIn addition\, we’ve decided to divide the Steel Longsword event into “Advanced” and “Novice” to make the transition as easy and pleasant as possible. Please read the updated rules and watch the explanatory videos!\nThis event will also help our volunteer directors practice judging in a real-world environment while maintaining a friendly and open atmosphere—everyone will be asked for opinions\, suggestions\, etc.\nWe will award 1st\, 2nd\, and two 3rd places.\nThe tournament check-in starts at 9 am and ends 5 min before the beginning of the event.\nThe start time of each event will be posted after November 1st. \nEvents list:\nPoking Fracas (Steel Rapier)\nSteel Brawl (Advanced Steel Longsword)\nRookie Skirmish (Novice Steel Longsword)\nFoam Rumble (Foam Longsword)
