Slovakia’s oldest HEMA tournament is known for its professional atmosphere\, friendly environment\, and top-tier judging.\n\nThis year\, we are opening the following categories:\n\nA) Longsword OpenB) Longsword Women\n\nHowever\, take note! Participants in the Longsword Open category will be divided into three subcategories:\n\n1) Longsword Beginners2) Longsword Advanced3) Longsword Masters\n\nThe organizer will determine subcategory placement based on the HEMA Ratings ranking. Additionally\, the organizer reserves the right to make adjustments if the current ranking does not reflect a participant’s achievements.\n\nImportant Update:\n\nThe organizer will provide weapons for competitors—there is no need to bring your own swords. DESCRIPTION:Battle Born is a premium mid-size HEMA event that brings in fencers from all over North America. We strive to marry the best aspects of the professionalism of large HEMA events with the camaraderie and opportunities for individual connection found in small HEMA events. \nSome things we do: \nRegular tournaments in Longsword\, Broadsword\, Rapier\, and Women’s Smallsword\n“Single-Life” tournaments in Longsword\, Broadsword\, and Rapier; we are considering smallsword\, as well!\nBoth curated workshops and tournaments\, run at separate times (so you’ll never miss a class by your favorite instructor because you had to compete!)\nA casual dinner on Saturday for more socializing opportunities\nKeeping focus on quality judging\, fencer experience\, and audience experience\nOur tournament ruleset is different. Our approach to HEMA events is different. We hope this makes for a better experience.

DESCRIPTION:We are mixing things up a bit this time and running the following tournaments: \n– Longsword\, Tiers A&B\n– Sabre\, Tiers A&B\n– Open Spear (Partisan)\n– Open Sidesword\n– Open Rapier & Dagger\nFor the longword & sabre tournaments this year we are running A&B divisions\, these will be seeded by fencer’s HEMAratings (weighted ratings) after registration closes.\nThe top four fencers from the “B” tier tournaments will also be added to the subsequent “A” tier pools\, allowing for another chance at medaling. \nThis event will also be the first New Zealand HEMA tournament to be included in the Australian Historical Fencing League circuit\, so expect some hotly contested finals. \nPut aside the date\, book your flights to Christchurch\, New Zealand\, and get training for UFC5!
