DESCRIPTION:Eine bunte Palette unterschiedlicher Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten zum Thema Schwert wird geboten: Von Präsentationen aus alten über 600 Jahre alten Fechtbüchern\, aber auch der Vorstellung einer modernen Sportart (HEMA)\, die das Schwert als Sportgerät nutzt\, hin zur Betrachtung eines Originalfund im Museum der Burg. \nKomm vorbei und fechte mit uns\, den Teilnehmer*innen der Fechtwoche. Die Burg bietet eine wundervolle Kulisse\, auf mehreren Ebenen und in unterschiedlichen Räumen ist genügend Platz für allerlei fechterische Freuden: Freies Fechten sowie technischer Austausch ist durchgehend möglich. \nNatürlich kannst du auch am restlichen Programm teilnehmen\, Workshops besuchen\, schnitttesten\, zuschauen\, mitmachen. Ein kurzer Besuch im Burgenmuseum zum Thema Lebensraum Burg ist sicher auch einen Abstecher wert. \nEssen und Getränke\, die (hoffentlich) Sonne genießen und gemütlich beisammen sein. Wir freuen uns auf dich. \nAm Sonntag gibt es dieses Jahr erstmals Workshops/Trainings\, die von dir besucht werden können: Gemeinsames Mobilisieren am Morgen\, technisches Training\, Sparrings & Schnitttesten. \n— ENGLISH —\nA colorful range of different employment opportunities on the subject of the sword is offered: From presentations from old fencing books over 600 years old\, but also the presentation of a modern sport (HEMA) that uses the sword as a sporting tool\, to the viewing of an original find in the museum of the castle. \nCome and fence with us\, the participants of the fencing week. The castle offers a wonderful setting\, on several levels and in different rooms there is enough space for all kinds of fencing pleasures: Free fencing as well as technical exchange is possible throughout. \nOf course\, you can also take part in the rest of the program\, attend workshops\, cut tests\, watch\, participate. A short visit to the castle museum on the subject of the castle as a living space is certainly worth a detour. \nFood and drinks\, enjoy the (hopefully) sun and be together comfortably. We are looking forward to seeing you. \nOn Sunday\, for the first time this year\, there will be workshops/training sessions that you can attend: Mobilizing together in the morning\, technical training\, sparring & cut testing.

SUMMARY:Teutonic Fecht 2023 - Honigberg
DESCRIPTION:HEMA tournaments aim to do many things\, but a key difference to other combat sports is our connection to history.\nThe Teutonic Fecht 2023\, held for the first time in Harman\, Romania\, will be a combination of both high level and intense historical fencing\, and an event full of passion for history – in a fortified historical church at the heart of Transylvania.\nThe HEMA event itself is part of a larger festival in the ethnic German village\, all centered around the Evangelical church built in 1240 and fortified in the 15th C. To celebrate the history of the town\, reenactors in armor\, on horseback\, archers will demonstrate their skills\, on top of numerous other activities.\nIn the 13th C the Hungarian king Andras II\, who controlled the region\, invited the Knights of the Teutonic order to construct fortresses and in return gave them lands. The Order brought German settlers into Transylvania and they found multiple towns and villages\, some populated by German speakers to this day. One of those is Honigberg\, or as the Romanians call it – Harman.\nTwo tournament disciplines will be offered\, a more typical longsword tournament and a special\, sudden-death sidesword tournaments with swords provided – with many guaranteed matches in both categories. Fully video-assisted judging will be used in the sudden death tournament.\nWith a weapon as middle-ground as sidesword\, rapierists\, sabreurs\, messer and arming sword people can easily take part and feel at home in a high-stakes tournament – and they don’t need to bring a sword!\nSave the weekend of 25th-27th of August and come fence in Harman\, Romania.
