SUMMARY:Queen's Gambit
DESCRIPTION:Queen’s Gambit is a 3-Day HEMA Tournament in Charlotte-Metro Area. \nWe pride ourselves on providing a safe and inclusive environment for fencers of all backgrounds to compete to the best of their ability. We offer a swiss-pools format and guarantee fighters 9 fights in the open pools before the top people face off for the finals. \nWe offer sparring tournaments in Spear\, Sidesword\, Longsword\, and Dagger. Each tournament is separated by height into Rose (Under 5’10”) and Crown (5’10” and above) – this year if there is any space remaining in the Crown Division at the end of the registration period fencers from Rose Division who have asked to be moved to Crown will be added to Crown Division. Fencers may not fight in both divisions! \nThis year we will see the return of our Cutting tournaments! We will have Open Arming Sword (Sideswords and other one-handed weapons are acceptable)\, Open Longsword\, and our first-ever Tier-A Longsword for those with extensive cutting experience OR who have medaled in a cutting competition within the last two years. \nWe will be offering workshops and lectures Friday Night and Sunday Morning. Saturday night we will celebrate our HEMA community with a Masquerade Dinner complete with Renaissance dancing led by a professional dance master – no dance experience necessary!

DESCRIPTION:Three-day-long Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) training camp in an amazing and period-appropriate environment.\n1610 was the year Panemunė castle was completed. What a coincidence: the early 17th century was also the golden age of European martial arts\, and that’s what this HEMA camp is going to be all about.\nEach day there will be a seminar on one of the staple Renaissance weapons with a world-renown fencing master:\nJuly 21: Longsword (Matt Galas)\nJuly 22: Sabre (Jerzy Miklaszewski)\nJuly 23: Rapier (Mike Prendergast)\nAdditional activities will include excursions\, lectures\, sparring\, target cutting\, handling of real antique weapons\, sitting around a campfire and more. Stay tuned for more information on the schedule!\nHow much will it cost?\nFull price:\n3 days: 200 eur\n2 days: 150 eur\n1 day: 100 eur\nThe price includes stays (2\, 1 and 0 appropriately) at the castle’s hostel.\nThere is an additional option to stay in fancier hotel rooms (for an additional price\, see the registration form).\nThere is also an option to camp in a tent\, which will reduce the base price by 14 eur. per night. Not only will you enjoy fresh air\, but also save some money!\nThe price also includes 3 meals per day.
