DESCRIPTION:Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) is an endeavor started in the 20th century in the US and Europe\, its aim is to reconstruct European martial arts that has its lineage broken through the interpretation of period manuscripts. In Asia\, more and more people are joining the movement\, either based on the fascination with a foreign culture\, or through a passion for martial arts. A HEMA event for Asia – Clash of Steel. We invite everyone to join us. \nDue to renovation work at our originally planned venue\, we have decided to relocate this year’s event to Chung Mei Auditorium at Fu Jen Catholic University\, a private Catholic institution. This venue is a school gymnasium that resembles a Roman arena and hosted various university sports competitions every year\, including fencing\, basketball\, and volleyball tournaments. The surrounding area offers convenient transportation\, a wide variety of restaurants\, and ample accommodation and medical resources. \nWe hope you will enjoy great food\, have a fantastic time\, and leave with valuable experiences. \nThis year’s event will feature:\nOpen Longsword Tournament\nOpen Rapier & Dagger Tournament\nTen Different Weapon Workshops\nLARP Combat Event on the First Evening\nMore details will be announced on our Facebook page and official website. DESCRIPTION:Queen’s Gambit is a 3-Day HEMA Tournament in Charlotte-Metro Area. \nWe pride ourselves on providing a safe and inclusive environment for fencers of all backgrounds to compete to the best of their ability. We offer a swiss-pools format and guarantee fighters 9 fights in the open pools before the top people face off for the finals. \nWe offer sparring tournaments in Spear\, Sidesword\, Longsword\, and Dagger. Each tournament is separated by height into Rose (Under 5’10”) and Crown (5’10” and above) – this year if there is any space remaining in the Crown Division at the end of the registration period fencers from Rose Division who have asked to be moved to Crown will be added to Crown Division. Fencers may not fight in both divisions! \nThis year we will see the return of our Cutting tournaments! We will have Open Arming Sword (Sideswords and other one-handed weapons are acceptable)\, Open Longsword\, and our first-ever Tier-A Longsword for those with extensive cutting experience OR who have medaled in a cutting competition within the last two years. \nWe will be offering workshops and lectures Friday Night and Sunday Morning. Saturday night we will celebrate our HEMA community with a Masquerade Dinner complete with Renaissance dancing led by a professional dance master – no dance experience necessary!

DESCRIPTION:The premiere Hema event in Greece returns with it’s 7th edition!\nThis year we go north of Greece with “The White Tower Edition” in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki! \nHEMATHLON will be a part of a bigger event the “Mediterranean Culture-Sports Tournament Thessaloniki 2025” which includes a lot of non-recognized sports like: handball in the sand \, wrestling in the sand\, korfball\, basketball 3×3\, types of MMA fighting\, running and shooting (laser) and a lot more other activities and sports!\nThe event will take place in the center of town in special designated areas from July 17th to July 20th supported by the municipality of the town of Thessaloniki. DESCRIPTION:Sofia CrossSwords team is presenting the first dedicated “Sofia Longsword Open” event. It will be a day focused entirely on Longsword with three competitions. The following day will be open for free sparring for anyone deciding to stay more. \nOpen Longsword with 48 people separated in two tiers:\n– Tier A – 16 fencers\n– Tier B – 32 fencers\nThe separation will be made according to the sign ups. The higher rated fencers (according to Hemaratings) will be placed in tier A\, the rest in tier B.\nLadies Longsword with no limit on the number of fencers. If enough fencers sign up a Tier separation is possible.\nAll categories will be judged and scored by our local team and guest judges. \nFull ruleset is posted on the website. Basic scoring is:\n– 2 points for any clean hit\n– 1 point for the first hit followed by an “afterblow”\n– 0 points for any double hit\n– No afterblow after head hit\n– Hit quality required\, unopposed flats allowed to the head\, edge required on all other targets\n– First to 12 points in pools wins; first to 15 points in elimination wins \nFull gear required. Full is posted on the website. Longswords allowed:\n1. Total length- from 105 to 135 cm.\n2. Weight- from 1300 – 1650 gr. (1200 – 1650 gr. for Ladies Longsword)\n3. Blade length- from 85 to 104 cm.\n4. Crossguard width- from 20 to 30 cm. (rings are not allowed)\n5. Grip length\, including pommel – from 20 to 35 cm.\n6.
