SUMMARY:Clash for the Cash
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the inaugural Clash for the Cash Longsword tournament on March 2\, 2024 in Pemberton\, NJ. This will be the first event of its kind in this part of the country\, with cash prizes being awarded to the top 8 fighters. \nThe entry fee for the tournament is essentially a $50 buy-in\, with the proceeds being given to fighters instead of merchandise. The awards will break down as follows: \n$600 for 1ST place\n$300 for 2ND\n$150 for 3RD\n$100 for 4TH\n$50 for places 5-8\nThese amounts will be contingent upon attendance\, of course\, and will be based upon a roster of 60 fighters. If the tournament doesn’t sell out\, the prize amounts may have to be adjusted. \nThis will be a single-day competition with no sponsors\, no frills\, and no subdivisions….just a plump purse of prize money waiting to be claimed. It will be open to fighters of any gender or skill level. It is our intention to put together a relatively low-cost event which will be designed to give all fighters the best possible experience for the money they spend.

DESCRIPTION:Ascalon Sword Festival is a premiere HEMA tournament\, featuring longsword\, which will be divided into Division 1\, 2 and 3\, Saber\, Rapier & Dagger\, and Marginalized Gender Longsword Tournament. \nRegistration is now OPEN. See below for event specific details. \nThe Open Longsword event will be split across 3 separate events – Divisions 1-3. The Top 8 finishers of all 3 divisions will receive medals. Fencers are free to register and place themselves as they choose\, but are expected to accurately place themselves using the descriptions below. The tournament staff reserves the right to shift fencers that staff believe are improperly placed. \nDivision 1 is recommended for fencers who regularly place in the top 25% of open events and/or have a rank of C or greater. \nDivision 2 is recommended for fencers that do not qualify for Div1 or Div3. Fencers who regularly finish in the top 25% of tournaments should apply for Division 1. Division 2 fencers may also choose to participate in Division 1. If you normally participate in an “Open” without getting into the table of 8\, this is the level for you. \nDivision 3 is recommended for those that are new to HEMA\, have difficulty winning bouts in their pool\, or fencers who do not normally progress past the first round of a DE. Division 3 fencers may also choose to participate in Division 2. \nThe Marginalized Gender event is open to trans and cis women\, trans men\, non-binary people\, intersex people\, and any other gender expansive people who are often underrepresented in HEMA. \nSaber and Rapier & Dagger will be run a standard open tournament\, all skill levels are welcome to participate. \nPlease see the rules for additional details.
